"Se Fue". Cuban Artist "El Sexto" Released from Jail after Two Months

Danilo Maldonado, better known as El Sexto, has been freed after spending two months in prison without trial. El Sexto was arrested and jailed for his attempt to draw counter-revolutionary graffiti after Fidel Castro's death.

Habiendo recaudado 20.000 dólares en tres horas durante el pasado fin de semana, #CollectiveActionPHL celebró una subasta de arte en silencio con casi mil asistentes. El evento se diseñó para recaudar fondos para 10 organizaciones de justicia social a nivel nacional y local.

Raising over $20,000 in three hours this past weekend, #CollectiveActionPHL hosted a silent art auction with over a thousand attendees. The event was designed to raise money for 10 social justice organizations at both the national and local levels.

En la víspera de la juramentación del Presidente Electo Donald Trump, el 20 de Enero, varios colectivos artísticos e independientes se han organizado a nivel nacional para llevar a cabo "acciones directas" tanto en Washington como en el resto del país. Foto: DisruptJ20

Un colectivo de activistas locales se ha organizado bajo el eslogan “DISRUPTJ20” (“Detengamos el 20 de Enero”, en inglés), en colaboración con el DC Welcoming Committee, para convocar a manifestantes, trabajadores y cualquier persona que desee sumarse, a boicotear la toma de posesión del Presidente Electo de los Estados Unidos, Donald J. Trump.

Organize your Rage: #DISRUPTJ20 is on its way

On the eve of the induction of the President-Elected Donald Trump, on January the 20th, several independent and artistic groups have organized nation wide to perform "direct actions" in Washington and in the rest of the country. Photo: DisruptJ20

A group of local activist has organized under the slogan “DISRUPTJ20”, under the DC Welcoming Committee, to call upon protesters, workers and any citizen that may want to join, to boycott Donald J. Trump’s inauguration.

DISRUPTJ20 has put forward a network of activists to organize protests and a general strike that pretend to disturb the investiture of the President-Elect Donald Trump, spreading direct actions in the streets and through any media in hand.

Soda Stereo imaginada por el Cirque du Soleil

La compañía de entretenimiento canadiense, Cirque du Soleil, ha anunciado el estreno de su obra tributo a una de las bandas de rock más importantes en la historia de la música latinoamericana: Soda Stereo.

El “montaje dramático de artes circenses y esparcimiento callejero” – como se describe a sí misma la compañía – tiene una trayectoria de más de 30 años, llevando al mundo entero espectáculos que conjugan la música en vivo, la danza y el arte callejero en el que se desempeñaban sus fundadores Guy Laliberté y Daniel Gauthier antes de fundar la agrupación.
