El Champecoense resucita

Como el mito del Fénix, que nace de sus propias cenizas, ha resurgido el equipo Champecoense. Tras la horrible tragedia en la que perdieron a casi todo el equipo en un accidente aéreo el pasado mes de Noviembre, en Medellín, Colombia, el equipo se prepara para regresar al campo la próxima temporada.

Champeconese rises again

As the mythological Phoenix rose from the ashes, so does Team Champecoense.  After the horrible tragedy of losing all but three players in the plane crash this past November in Medellin, Colombia, the team is preparing to return to the pitch next season.

The Cinderella story now all seems but a distant memory when the team was heading to compete in the first leg of the Copa Sudamericana tournament finals. The teams rise through the ranks in Brazil and South America made many teams take notice.  Now the team has to find a way to start over again brick by brick, player by player.

With all the heartbreaking news surrounding last month’s Champecoense plane crash in Medellin, Colombia, the team has found a way to turn tragedy into a true fairytale story.

In the team’s monthly magazine, the Brazilian club decided to publish a fairytale to explain to the younger fans what happened in Colombia.  The fairytale is called “Era uma vez” or “Once upon a time”.  The storyline is that the futbollers were invited to play a match in heaven.

Un error del piloto causó el accidente aéreo del Champecoense

Las autoridades colombianas han dicho que el accidente aéreo del Champecoense, que causó la muerte de casi todos los jugadores del equipo de fútbol a las afueras de Medellín (Colombia), fue causado por un error del piloto.

El avión operado por la compañía chárter boliviana LaMia, se estrelló a kilómetros del aeropuerto debido a que el piloto no recargó el combustible del avión en la ruta y no advirtió a nadie sobre el fallo del motor causado por la falta de combustible hasta que fue demasiado tarde.

Pilot Error caused Champecoense Plane Crash

Colombian authorities have said that the Champecoense plane crash that killed all but three futbol players last month outside of Medellin, Colombia was caused by pilot error.

The plane operated by the Bolivian charter company LaMia, crashed miles from the airport because the pilot failed to refuel the plane while in route and did not warn anyone of the engine failure caused by lack of fuel until it was too late.

Brazilian footballer Alan Ruschel (c), one of the six survivors of the Chapecoense plane crash, is transferred on a plane with medical instruments from Ríonegro, Colombia heading to Brazil.

In the horror of the Champecoense plane crash that killed most of the futbol team and 71 people in all on a mountainside near Medellin, Colombia, Alan Rushel, one of the six survivors, revealed that he changed seats at the last minute.

Acusaciones sobre impuestos rodean a tres estrellas de La Liga

Las autoridades fiscales españolas presuntamente han iniciado una investigación sobre varios jugadores de La Liga, incluyendo a Gareth Bale, Neymar y Cristiano Ronaldo.

Durante el día en el que debería estar celebrando su cuarto Balón de Oro, Ronaldo debió responder a preguntas concernientes a las investigaciones fiscales en su contra y contra otros 36 jugadores dentro de La Liga.

De acuerdo a Bein Sports, esta información vino del sitio web “Football Leak”, que reveló salarios, tazas de transferencias y contratos de algunos jugadores de fútbol.

Tax Allegations surround three stars of La Liga

Spanish tax authorities have reportedly launched an investigation into multiple La Liga-based players including Gareth Bale, Neymar, and Cristiano Ronaldo.

On a day that should be of celebrating his fourth Ballon d’Or victory, Ronaldo had to fight back questions concerning tax investigations against him and 36 other players within La Liga.

According to Bein Sports, this information came from the website “Football Leak”, which reveals wages, transfer fees and contracts of certain futbol players.

La tripulación del vuelo nunca advirtió a los pasajeros en el desafortunado vuelo Champecoense

Rafael Henzel, el periodista que viajaba con el equipo Chapecoense y uno de los pocos sobrevivientes del fatal accidente aéreo, recuerda que la tripulación nunca advirtió a los pasajeros que ajustaran sus cinturones de seguridad.

En su primera entrevista tras el accidente, Henzel habló con Fantastico TV de Brasil y mencionó que ninguno de los pasajeros fue advertido del inminente accidente: “Nadie nos dijo que aseguráramos nuestros cinturones”, dijo Henzel, “Cada vez que preguntábamos cuándo llegaríamos nos decían que en diez minutos”.

Flight crew never warned passengers on doomed Chapecoense flight

Rafael Henzel, a journalist who traveled with the Champecoense team and one of the only survivors of the fatal plane crash, remembered the flight crew not telling any passengers to fasten their seatbelts.

In his first interview since the crash, Henzel spoke with Brazil’s Fantastico TV and mentioned that none of the passengers were given a warning on the upcoming crash. “ No one told us to fasten our seat belts, said Henzel, “Every time we asked when we’d arrive we were told ten minutes”.
