Jovenes con una historia familiar de cancer de mama tienen un autoestima más alto

El cáncer de seno es la principal causa de muerte oncológica entre Latinas, sin embargo es esta población la que menos tiende a hacerse mamografías regulares. Los doctores temen que el acceso a la educación y a la salud puedan ser factores en esta contradicción que impacta a residentes en barrios de escasos recursos más que a otro tipo de centros urbanos. La mujer hispana continúa sin recibir el tratamiento oportuno y correcto para el cáncer de mama, en comparación con mujeres de otra ascendencia, de acuerdo a Cancer.org.
