A Latina in the middle of the battle against cancer

After more than four decades tirelessly investigating the causes of cancer, Dr. Irma H. Russo passed away in 2013 from the very disease she fought. She left a medical and social legacy behind her that is still affecting us today. This is her story.

Led by President Michelle Bachelet's administration, the "historic" initiative legalizes abortion in case of fetal infeasibility, danger to women's life or health, and pregnancy from rape. Until yesterday, Chile was one of the few countries in the world that barred abortion under all circumstances.
