A pesar de las amenazas de Comcast de que la ciudad sería demandada por la ley, el Alcalde Kenney ha compartido que firmará la legislación contra la discriminación salarial que fue introducida en el Ayuntamiento y que se encuentra bajo revisión.

“Podremos ser demandados o no”, dijo Kenney a una multitud a las afueras del Ayuntamiento, “pero el Consejo ha aprobado esta medida por voto unánime, y no veo una razón por la cual no deba firmarla”.

Despite threats from Comcast that the city would be sued for the bill, Mayor Kenney shared that he will sign the wage discrimination legislation that was passed by City Council and under law review.

"We may get sued, we may not," Kenney said to a crowd outside of City Hall. "But Council passed this measure by unanimous vote, and I see no reason why I shouldn't sign it."

En un esfuerzo por prevenir la discriminación salarial en el lugar de trabajo, una ley ha sido aprobada por el Ayuntamiento con 16 votos a favor y en este momento espera la firma de Kenney.

La ley, que enfrenta un rechazo público de Comcast, está en proceso de evaluación legal por el Departamento de la Ley en Filadelfia y, por lo tanto, la firma del Alcalde Kenney se ha retrasado.

In an effort to prevent wage discrimination in the workplace, a bill was passed by City Council with a 16-0 vote and is currently awaiting Kenney’s signature.

The bill, which is facing open backlash from Comcast, is facing legal review by Philadelphia’s legal department and as a result, a delay in being signed into law by Mayor Kenney.

En el cuadragésimo aniversario de Congreso, y luego de que Cynthia Figueroa prosiguiera con su posición en el gabinete del Alcalde Kenney, la Junta de Directores del Congreso de Latinos Unidos, también conocida como Congreso, anunció que habían seleccionado a Carolina Cabrera DiGiorgio como Presidente y Directora General.
