Even before five o'clock in the afternoon, dozens of women with posters, megaphones, and pink caps were being seen walking downtown. The meeting was in Logan Square, in the heart of Philadelphia. The occasion? Well, that depends on the perspective: for an unaware bystander (who generally has no perspective), it was one more celebration of International Women's Day.

La ley contra la discriminación laboral de Kenney ha peleado con fuerza

En un esfuerzo por prevenir la discriminación salarial en el lugar de trabajo, una ley ha sido aprobada por el Ayuntamiento con 16 votos a favor y en este momento espera la firma de Kenney.

La ley, que enfrenta un rechazo público de Comcast, está en proceso de evaluación legal por el Departamento de la Ley en Filadelfia y, por lo tanto, la firma del Alcalde Kenney se ha retrasado.

Kenney’s wage discrimination bill fought with force

In an effort to prevent wage discrimination in the workplace, a bill was passed by City Council with a 16-0 vote and is currently awaiting Kenney’s signature.

The bill, which is facing open backlash from Comcast, is facing legal review by Philadelphia’s legal department and as a result, a delay in being signed into law by Mayor Kenney.
