Big Texas cities to sue state over recent law prohibiting sanctuary cities

The new law ratified by Gov. Greg Abbott allows law enforcement officers to ask legally detained or arrested people for their the immigration status and punishes officials who refuse to cooperate with federal immigration agencies, including ICE.

El gobernador de Texas, el republicano Greg Abbott, ratificó hoy el polémico proyecto de ley estatal que prohíbe las "ciudades santuario" en el estado y autoriza la norma conocida como "enséñame los papeles", que permitirá a la policía cuestionar el estatus migratorio de las personas detenidas.
