 News headlines are screaming about how fearful Latinos are due to moves the Trump administration is making toward stepping up deportations. These are valid concerns for many Hispanics, a majority of whom have acquaintances or family members who could be at risk.

An anti-Muslim attack in a London mosque on Saturday was followed by a frustrated terrorist attack on Monday in Paris, where an armed man identified as an Islamic extremist was killed after he rammed a card loaded with weapons and explosives in to a police convoy. Increasing Islamist terror and hate crime against Muslims at the same time...  is this exactly what ISIS want?

A new initiative in Southern California aims to unite Southern California's Muslim and Latino communities during the month of Ramadan. The charity campaign- which brings together both communities to enjoy tacos after fastening all day - is a response to the election of President Trump, which has left both America's Muslim and Latino communities feeling besieged, the organizers explain.

This week’s bombing in Manchester was another gruesome reminder that the threat from radical Islamic terrorism is ongoing. And President Trump’s journey to the Middle East illustrated yet again how the country central to the spread of this terrorism, Saudi Arabia, has managed to evade and deflect any responsibility for it. In fact, Trump has given Saudi Arabia a free pass and a free hand in the region.

[OP-ED]: The Comey firing reminds us of a bigger danger

I have tried to evaluate Donald Trump’s presidency fairly. I’ve praised him when he has appointed competent people to high office and expressed support for his policies when they seemed serious and sensible (even though this has drawn criticism from some quarters). But there has always been another aspect to this presidency lurking beneath the surface, sometimes erupting into full view as it did this week. Donald Trump, in much of his rhetoric and many of his actions, poses a danger to American democracy.
