In the context of expansion of organized crime in Mexico, migrants have become easy targets, as they are more visible, easily identifiable as migrants and, in many cases, they walk on a predetermined route. At least 400 immigrants were killed on their way from Central America to the US in 2015.

Why EPA has dismissed half of its key board’s scientific advisers?

Nine scientists have been dismissed from the EPA’s 18-person Board of Scientific Counselors—ostensibly to include more voices from regulated industries, though the scientists say their work was apolitical and did not involve regulations. The US government has also postponed an important meeting scheduled for Tuesday to determine whether the country should or should not withdraw from the Paris Agreement on climate change, a matter that President Donald Trump promised to decide this month.

[OP-ED]: A familiar voice with an all-too-familiar story

Best-selling author Malcolm Gladwell says it takes around 10,000 hours of practice to master a craft.

But there’s a catch. Who’s to say that, by the time you put in the years necessary to get really good at something, you won’t be at an age where it is tough to find gainful employment?
