Alejandrina Guzman is the new student body president at the University of Texas at Austin. As the top representative of the UT student body, Guzman will focus on protecting undocumented students and promoting a petition to declare U.T a "sanctuary campus."

Latinos are much like the Irish. Both came to America as down-on-their-luck Catholic immigrants from failing countries only to be despised when they got here.

Thirteen young Mexican-American artists explore the ideas of "home" and "place" in the American West in an exhibit called "Mi Tierra" at the Denver Art Museum. Artists tackled topics of immigration, identity struggle and colliding worlds.
