Julianne Pachico es la autora de The Lucky Ones, una novela de relatos cortos que ha sido aclamada por la prensa de Estados Unidos por ser un fiel retrato de la violenta realidad de Colombia durante los últimos veinte años. 

De madre inglesa y padre americano,  Julianne Pachico creció en Cali, Colombia, en un ambiente marcado por las fuertes diferencias sociales y el miedo a la guerrilla pero también por el calor y el afecto de la gente colombiana. Siete años después, la escritora publica The Lucky Ones, una novela de relatos cortos que ha sido aclamada por la prensa de Estados Unidos por ser un fiel retrato de la violenta realidad del país en los últimos veinte años.

It's a perfect time to get reacquainted with Scott Joplin, King of Ragtime

I've been on an insane Scott Joplin bender for two weeks now. I woke up two Saturdays ago thinking about ragtime and didn't even wait to get out of bed -- I downloaded 37 different rags straight into my iPod and have been obsessively playing them all over and over and over again ever since.
