About 200 people – including a number of small children – gathered before the White House on April 13, 2017, to protest the immigration policies of President Donald Trump and denounce the family separation created by the massive deportations undertaken by the magnate.

At the very time Williams campaigned in 2009 on changing DA Office culture – like refusal to correct injustices – he engaged in the same conduct he condemned by rejecting pleas to help those cousins.

The 50-page federal indictment released recently that charged Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams with 23 counts of corrupt misconduct did not reference an egregious injustice committed by Williams that revolved around defiant refusal to acknowledge grievous errors.

After they were released from a holding facility, the pair took sanctuary in an Austin church eleven months ago, hoping to avoid deportation back into danger at home.

A small group of Mexicans and Americans demonstrated today in two parts of the Mexican capital for the visit to the country by US Secretaries of State, Rex Tillerson, and Interior Security, John Kelly, where they declared through banners "Persona non grata" to the secretaries, an official visit in Mexico, and urged them to stop the hatred, racism and ignorance shown so far by the policies of President Donald Trump. My two sons used to come home from a day at high school complaining that ludicrous accusations of racism were as common as the desks in the classrooms. I chalked it up to adolescent exaggeration.

After having spent the current academic year as a teacher surrounded by rowdy high-schoolers, I can attest that they were right.

In the hallways, at assemblies, in my classroom, “That’s racist!” was a common refrain for most of the early fall.
