Among the persons that provided poignant testimonials on positive benefits from DACA during the recent ceremony in Philadelphia’s City Hall commemorating the fifth anniversary of that fair-minded initiative instituted by former President Obama were two persons from countries that few ever connect with the controversy around undocumented immigrants in the United States.

Defensores de los inmigrantes, líderes comunitarios y "soñadores" destacaron hoy el cambio que la Acción Diferida para los Llegados en la Infancia (DACA) supuso para 800.000 personas y anunciaron marchas mañana para recalcar que "ha funcionado", cuando se cumple su quinto aniversario.

María Sotomayor, is the deputy director of the Pennsylvania Immigration and Citizenship Coalition. She came to the US in 2002, when she was 10. In 2012 became recipient of DACA. Just a few weeks ago, María got her 'green card". These are her views on the DACA issue in times of Trump.
