O’Reilly, the undisputed king of the highly competitive sandbox of cable television news/talk. He decisively beat his competitors in the ratings no matter who they put up against him. Foxnews

I thought liberals were against bullying. So why are they taking such joy in piling on Bill O’Reilly?

 04/17/2017 - 08:24

English

There are lots of public policy problems that, even with the best of political goodwill, cannot be easily solved. They’re just inherently tough. Fixing airline overbooking is not one of them.

[OP-ED]: Will Ecuador’s new president get rid of Julian Assange?

 04/14/2017 - 09:37
The incoming president has promised reform. But first Moreno needs to get his troublesome houseguest off the country’s couch so Assange can stop sucking all the air out of Ecuador’s faint presence on the world stage.
English

Last week, the people of Ecuador elected a leftist named after the communist dictator Vladimir Lenin as their new president.

It’s always a double-edged sword when Ecuador is in the news -- in the U.S., the little-known country at the equator usually flies far under the radar.

[OP-ED]: Cacería de periodistas en México

 03/28/2017 - 13:40

Freedom of the press Mexican style. It is a sad, even cynical way of referring to the unending slaughter of journalists perpetrated with impunity in our neighbor to the South, where it’s open season on freedom of speech.

With apologies to Jeff Foxworthy, I don’t know what makes someone a redneck. But, in the immigration debate, I have a pretty good idea of what makes someone a racist.

[OP-ED]: Trump’s Latino enablers will be neither forgiven nor forgotten

Durante la campaña, Trump trató a la mayor minoría de Estados Unidos como a una piñata a la que aporrearía para entretener a los electores blancos. EFE

Latinos are much like the Irish. Both came to America as down-on-their-luck Catholic immigrants from failing countries only to be despised when they got here.
