[OP-ED] He Enjoys Terrorizing Immigrants; Trump Wants Him to Lead ICE

 02/14/2018 - 11:22
Thomas Homan, who cynically tries to disguise his racism as “patriotic duty,” also stated his intention to persecute “sanctuary cities,” his opposition to a DACA solution and his enthusiasm for Trump’s absurd border wall, which he said he supports “100 percent.” EFE

Meet the man Donald Trump handpicked as Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) director: His name is Thomas Homan, a bigot that salivates over every immigrant worker detained, every family torn apart by deportation and every community terrorized by his agency -- and brags about it. This unabashedly racist individual, who gets his kicks from tearing apart immigrant families, should not be leading ICE.

[OP-ED] El regreso del Americano Feo: Tillerson viaja a Latinoamérica

 02/06/2018 - 14:30
Peruvian Foreign Minister Cayetana Aljovín received the Secretary of State of the United States, Rex Tillerson, during a press conference in Lima (Peru). Tillerson and Aljovín held a joint meeting in the Foreign Ministry to address issues of bilateral relations and the upcoming Summit of the Americas, which will take place on April 13 and 14 in the Peruvian capital. EFE

[OP-ED] The Ugly American Returns: Tillerson Travels to Latin America

Anybody with a modicum of knowledge about the history of U.S.-Latin America relations could have told Secretary of State Rex Tillerson that starting a weeklong, five-nation “goodwill tour” of that continent by singing the praises of the 1823 Monroe Doctrine, seeming to encourage the Venezuelan military to topple President Nicolás Maduro, and demanding for Cuba to make political changes pleasing to Washington was not going to be a stellar opening act.

For those innocent souls who believed Donald Trump’s Cuba policy would not be “too bad” or “all that different” from President Obama’s, the appointment of Philip Goldberg as head of the U.S. embassy in Havana should make them understand that only the worst can be expected from the current White House dweller.
