The Philadelphia 2016 Host Committee for the Democratic National Convention (DNC) launched the first phase of updates for its website last week. The updates will bring updated visuals and a new user interface, including a mobile menu to make the site fully navigable across devices, and will provide users with a more manageable and navigable way as they search for information related to preparations for the political event.

The Host Committee partnered with Philadelphia-based digital product design and development agency, O3 World, on the refresh that maintains the original URL. The O3 World team also turned the Host Committee’s Vendor Directory, which provides information about vendors and suppliers available for contract, into a live, searchable database, available on-site for anyone seeking vendors for their own, Convention-related needs.

“The Host Committee’s website is a great resource for residents and visitors seeking information about our efforts, and this redesign enables it to be more accessible and user-friendly,” Kevin Washo, executive director of the Philadelphia 2016 Host Committee, said in a press release. “We are so grateful to O3 World for their hard work on this project, which will help us better connect with members of the public as we get into the final months of planning for the Democratic National Convention.”

Additional update phases for website will be launched throughout the spring.

The O3 World team also turned the Host Committee’s Vendor Directory, which provides information about vendors and suppliers available for contract, into a live, searchable database, available for anyone seeking vendors for their own convention-related needs.

“We’re proud to partner with the Host Committee and donate our services for such an important initiative,” Keith Scandone, partner and CEO of O3 World, said in a press release. “As the DNC shines a spotlight on Philadelphia, it’s an honor to make a positive contribution to an event that showcases the city’s growth and significance.”
