Last month, it was announced that Al Jazeera America (AJAM) would cease both its TV and digital operations. Debuting in 2013, the network whose mission was to focus on "the human side of each story" with integrity and respect will be shutting down for good this coming April.

“I know the closure of AJAM will be a massive disappointment for everyone here who has worked tirelessly for our long-term future,” Al Jazeera America’s chief executive said in a memo, according to the Times. “The decision that has been made is in no way because AJAM has done anything but a great job. Our commitment to great journalism is unrivaled."

According to Poynter, shortly after the news was released, journalists from AJAM's digital team started a side project “The Best of Al Jazeera America Digital."

Hosted independently, the site showcases the work of journalists who will soon be unemployed in an effort to find them work after AJAM shuts down. It's similar to Philadelphia’s "Can I still hire a former PMN'er," a website devoted to finding journalism jobs for all 46 journalists who were laid off last December from the Philadelphia Media Network.

You can search through more than 50 short bios of the reporters, but the site also offers search by coverage areas, including culture, race, gender and politics.
