The stadium along the banks of the Delaware River in Chester, home of the Philadelphia Union, now has a new name.

The team’s communication office announced on Tuesday that the soccer stadium will be renamed “Talen Energy Stadium.” The 18,500-seat site formerly known as “PPL Park” has been home to the Philly-based Major League Soccer team since opening in 2010. Talen Energy, will take over naming rights which the PPL Corporation has held since the stadium opened. According to the statement from the Union, additional deal terms were not shared, “per club policy.”

“We look forward to continuing a strategic and great partnership with Talen Energy and are truly excited for the stadium to have a new look come 2016,” Union Chief Revenue Officer and Executive Vice President Dave Rowan said in a statement. “While the name will be changing, we remain solely devoted to bringing our loyal fans the best possible game-day experience and we welcome this change as a recommitment to our values.”

Along with the Union’s regular season home games, the stadium has hosted the 2012 MLS All-Star Game and the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Final for the last two years. Internationally known soccer clubs such as Chivas de Guadalajara, Pumas UNAM, Aston Villa and Everton have also played there. The location was also the site of the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup third place match.

Talen Energy is an independent energy supplier which was founded this year after the Allentown-based PPL spun off its competitive energy business and merged it with Riverstone Holdings’ power generation operations.  According to Zacks, an investment research firm, PPL does not have “continuing ownership interest” in Talen, but shareholders obtained 65 percent ownership in the company.
