[OP-ED]: Trump’s persecutors are going off the rails

 06/16/2017 - 11:10
Not to get too technical, but the evidence shows that Trump’s persecutors -- in the media, Congress and the nation’s law schools -- have gone off the rails. They’re not thinking clearly. In some cases, they’re not thinking at all. EFE

[OP-ED]: Los perseguidores de Trump se descarrían

 06/16/2017 - 11:07
EFE

[OP-ED]: In his dealings with Trump, Comey was no hero

 06/12/2017 - 08:32
Former FBI Director James Comey departs a closed committee meeting which followed his much-anticipated testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee on the FBI's investigation into the Trump administration, and its possible collusion with Russia during the campaign, in the Hart Senate office Building in Washington, DC, USA. It’s now clear that James Comey is a highly capable lawyer with only one client: James Comey.

The former FBI director may not need an attorney. But he could really use a public relations firm to help him rehabilitate his image.

That’s because, if you paid attention to Comey’s testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee, you know that President Trump isn’t the only person with a credibility problem.

[OP-ED]: What Maher said is no laughing matter

 06/08/2017 - 10:09
HBO needs to fire Maher. He is never going to change. Getting rid of him is the right thing to do. And it would send the message that, even in comedy, decency counts for a lot, and some things are no laughing matter.
English

Dear white America, have you ever wondered what people of color think of you?

By “people of color,” I mean those of us non-white Americans who used to be called “minorities.” But that was before we started to become a plurality, and eventually a majority, of the U.S. population.

 06/08/2017 - 10:05
HBO necesita despedir a Maher.

[OP-ED]: Conservatives get tangled up trying to define ‘sanctuary cities’

 06/06/2017 - 08:33
Session writes, in order to be deemed a “sanctuary,” a jurisdiction must go out of its way to “willfully refuse to comply with 8 U.S.C. 1373.” At the same time, he makes clear, “a jurisdiction that does not willfully refuse to comply with section 1373 is not a ‘sanctuary jurisdiction.’” EFE
English

Talk about putting the cart before the horse.

That’s what the Trump administration, and Republicans around the country, did when the conversation turned to sanctuary cities. They got all worked up. They declared their opposition. They threatened to withhold federal funding.

All before they had even defined the term.
