Ted Cruz announces presidential bid on Twitter
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) announced this weekend on Twitter that he will run for president in 2016, and launched a campaign website.
“I’m running for President and I hope to earn your support,” said Cruz in a tweet accompanied by a 30-second video in which he calls on "a new generation of courageous conservatives to help make America great again.”

Cruz has made headlines for his hard-line stance on immigration and the Affordable Care Act. Additionally, the son of a Cuban immigrant has faced questions over his own nationality because he was born in Canada. Undoubtedly whether he satisfies the requirements for presidential eligibility as a "natural born citizen” will be discussed.
According to polling from Latino Decisions only 24 percent of Latinos said they would consider voting for Cruz, compared to 73 percent who said it was unlikely.
