Philadelphia police have issued an arrest warrant and placed 22-year-old Khalil Henderson of North Philadelphia on Philly's Most Wanted list.

Henderson is wanted in relation to the December 5th shooting of Najee Rivera near C and Somerset streets in Kensington. According to the police, Rivera tried to break up a fight between Henderson and two other women, at which point Henderson allegedly pulled out a gun and shot Rivera.

Rivera remained alive in the hospital for two weeks before he died of his injuries.

His girlfriend Dina Scannapieco said that he did not know Henderson or the two women at the scene of the shooting. She petitioned the neighborhood looking for tips that would lead to a suspect, and the city offered a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest. After months of advocacy in the neighborhood, anonymous witness tips helped police identify Henderson as a key suspect.

Police say that Henderson drives a black Mercedes SUV and is often seen around 200 block of Somerset Street.

Here is Henderson's full description:

BLACK MALE 6'02" 175LBS. BLACK HAIR BROWN EYES FULL BEARD LIGHT MUSTACHE SHORT CLOSE HAIR STYLE MEDIUM BROWN COMPLEXION. FREQUENTS 200 BLOCK OF EAST SOMERSET ST. OPERATING A MERCEDES BENZ ML SUV PA TAG KBN-2519

This isn't the first time Scannapieco has sought justice for Rivera.

In 2013, Rivera was beaten by two police officers and arrested on falsified charges. Scannapieco was instrumental in tracking down video evidence of the beating that helped vindicate Rivera and lead the District Attorney's office to investigate the two officers.
