Former Florida governor and potential presidential candidate, Jeb Bush, identified himself as Hispanic in a 2009 voter-registration application, obtained from the Miami-Dade County Elections Department, by the New York Times.
Bush, who was born in Texas, speaks fluent Spanish, is married to a naturalized citizen born in Mexico, and has lived in Venezuela.
However, his decision to identify himself as Hispanic in the voter-registration raises the question whether he got carried away or whether he is misrepresenting himself for political reasons.
Bush has not offered an explanation.
