President Barack Obama will meet on Wednesday July 16th with members of the Hispanic Congressional Caucus to talk about immigration and the massive influx of unaccompanied minors from Central America to the United States.

The CHC tweeted about the meeting and the White House confirmed it.

The meeting will likely focus on the executive actions that President Obama promised to take after the speaker of the House of Representatives, the republican John Boehner, announced he would not be presenting immigration reform for voting this year.

In regards to the massive influx of unaccompanied minors from Central America, members of the CHC oppose changing a law from 2008 to speed up their deportation or to pass a new bill for the same purpose —both possibilities analyzed by the White House.

"I will strongly oppose any attempts to roll back current laws designed to protect the ability of these children and families to apply for asylum," said Sen. Bob Menendez, D-New Jersey.
