NCLR’s president, Janet Murguía, warned republicans that if they don’t act on immigration reform and help children who have arrived from Central America to the U.S. illegally, they won’t make it to the White House in the next presidential elections.
Murguía made the statement on Monday July 21st during the annual conference of the organization in Los Angeles.
While she previously referred to president Obama as the “deporter in chief”, this time she blamed the speaker of the House of Reps., John Boehner, for the lack of action around immigration reform.
"The reason immigration reform is not going to happen this year is because of Republican extremists in the House of Representatives and the willful neglect of Speaker John Boehner," said Murgúia. "The road to the White House runs right through the Hispanic community, and you will not see a Republican become president without it."
