The president met with 26 Latino legislators on Tuesday July 16 at the White House and talked about immigration reform and the humanitarian crisis related to the the massive influx of unaccompanied minors from Central America to the United States.
According to Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D), the president said that immigrants with strong roots or family in the U.S., children or spouse who are citizens, will be the priority.

Only time will tell if the actions of President Obama will be as “generous” as the record number of 2 million deportations in his administration.
Meanwhile, the CHC is opposing changing a law from 2008 in order to speed up the deportation of unaccompanied minors from Central America, but it supports approving the $3,700 million that Obama is asking for the South border.
