Four Democratic Senators who voted to block protections for undocumented immigrants and to delay executive action on immigration could now face the consequences among Latino voters.
At least that’s what the Presente.org hopes for after issuing a statement last weeks advising voters not to support Senators Kay Hagan (N.C.), Mary Landrieu (LA), Mark Pryor (Ark.) and Jeanne Shaheen (N.H.)
The four democrats voted with Republicans on blocking those immigration initiatives. The effort failed to attain a majority vote.
"Latinos are not political footballs to be thrown back and forth as convenient," Presente.org stated. "But that's what Sen. Pryor seems to think — he joined four other Democratic senators and Tea Party Senator Ted Cruz to push President Obama not to use executive action to provide relief for millions of undocumented immigrants, all because they thought it could hurt their election chances. They didn't have our backs — so we won't have theirs."
