About 80 percent of Latino politicians elected to state legislatures last week, are democrats, according to the National Association of Latino Elected Officials (NALEO).

In State Senates across the country, 88 percent of Latino elected legislators are democrats — that is 65 democrats and 9 republicans. 

in the Houses of Representatives, 76 percent are democrats — that is 173 democrats and 54 republicans.

Democrats may still be the majority, but things are changing. 

Ten new Latino republicans won 10 seats in lower houses, while democrats lost six.
