Our journalistic mission has not been left to chance, that
is why we salute the journalists of caliber that have joined us during our
mission of 20 years.  One such
journalist is Ivonne Malaver who successfully held the position of Managing
Editor of AL DIA from December 2006 until March 2011, bringing to our newsroom
the wealth of her journalistic experience and adroitly providing our reporters
and interns with assignments and critical oversight to attain well-researched, substantial
news and analysis.

As the foremost Hispanic news organization in the Philadelphia
Metropolitan Area, we navigated through some of the most complex issues
affecting our Hispanic and largely immigrant community including Immigration
Reform and Anti-immigrant Hate Crimes, along with Hispanic Labor, Education,
and Health matters, which makes for some of the most compelling, comprehensive,
and in-depth reporting of all things Hispanic in American media.

The talents of seasoned journalists paired with their
unreserved dedication are remarkable. Ivonne Malaver brought along her experience
as a reporter for the main Colombian daily El Tiempo directly covering 6 years
of Colombia's armed conflict and drug cartels, thus providing insight on the
current drug cartel wars in Mexico. Also as a former editor of the Latin
American Desk for the largest worldwide Spanish news agency EFE, Ivonne provided
a well-balanced coverage of Latin American news for Hispanic immigrants in the
U.S.

Our resolve is to deliver unswerving dedication to a
profession our reporters and editors truly love. We feel privileged to have counted
within our ranks such able journalists and we vow to consolidate serious Hispanic
journalism in America.
