After massive layoffs across the School District of Philadelphia in the fall, the superintendent could start hiring. But not the teachers, counselors, nurses or aides that were let go. The district may be looking for administrators and executives.
A document released by City Paper revealed that the District may be planning to fill ten additional high-salary positions. The documents were dated Jan. 10, 2014, and may be subject to change.
The draft shows that top positions are available in the charter schools office, prevention and intervention, instructional enrichment and support, schools, intervention schools, principal effectiveness, community relations, procurement, internal auditing services and an area just titled, "schools."
The document does not go into details of the possible positions, although the titles are similar to positions that already exist. The district is still working on its model for this year.
