Pennsylvania lawmakers are pushing forward with the "revenge porn" bill, which will outlaw online postings of sexually explicit images and videos of sexual partners with the intent to harm them.

The sharing of these images can cause various problems for the victims including, humiliation, loss of employment and the threat to their safety.

The Senate Judiciary Committee voted for the bill on Tuesday.

The proposed bill will make the postings of lewd images of minor a first-degree misdemeanor with a penalty of up to five years in prison. The postings of images of someone 18 or older would be would be a second-degree misdemeanor and will result in two years in prison.

Currently, New Jersey and California are the only states with laws that criminalize "revenge porn," while other states are contemplating the creation of similar bills.
