We live in a world where biological evolution is gradually being replaced by technological evolution. For the last 200 years or so there has been little biological evolution in human beings. However, we have successfully manipulated the technology around us to become extensions of ourselves. Logbar Inc's 'Ring', uses a bluetooth sensor and recognition system, to allow you to perform functions like send text messages and control your household devices, with just a wave of your finger. Ring's makers are also optimistic about having independent developers come up with additional functions for the device, which is compatible with both Apple's iOS and Google's Android software.

Currently, the Ring is not as productive as its developers would like it to be. It is only good for approximately a 1000 gestures before it needs to be recharged, so it isn't the most efficient device for texting too often. Also it is not water proof and a little clumsy, so you have to be careful about when you wear it. However, developers are intent on evolving the Ring, and creating a device which renders computer screens and smartphones obsolete. The first models will be shipped in July, and will cost approximately a $185 when they hit retail.
