People in wheelchairs may feel a bit more relief when trying to get around thanks to a new type of car.

Kenguru, a new U.S. manufactured electric car, may provide help to those in wheelchairs who need get around. The car is smaller than a Smart Car measuring 7 feet long and 5 feet high. The car lacks seats, allowing the driver to roll the wheelchair in from a pop-up back door. The Kenguru goes up to 25 miles per hour, with an estimated range of 60 miles.

The cost of the Kenguru is $25,000, but can be lowered for qualified buyers through green energy and mobility tax incentives.

Production of the Kenguru has recently started. The vehicles can be reserved online. The first cars are expected to be ready in 12 to 18 months.
