It’s not just cats and ‘foodie-grams’ that millennials are browsing on their smartphones.

Recent data from analytics firm comScore shows that millennials still read traditional news sites — like the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal — in addition to ones catered to them — like Buzzfeed and Mic.

In fact, nearly one in three visits to the New York Times and Wall Street Journal sites were from readers between the ages of 18 and 34.

The research mirrors Pew Research findings from 2012, which showed that one in three New York Times readers were between the ages of 18 and 29, as were nearly one in four for the Wall Street Journal. In comparison, readers over the age of 50 represent the same proportion.

The news sources that skewed older on Pew’s list were Fox News shows like the O’Reilly Factor and Hannity; network broadcasts in the morning, evening and on Sundays; and NPR.
