Recently, Philadelphia has been recognized for its food and lifestyle scene. Now one university is getting global attention for its reputation.

University of Pennsylvania has ranked number 23 on the list of the world’s most prestigious universities.

The Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings 2015 is a list of the top 100 “most powerful global university brands,” according to its website.

U.S. universities dominate the list with 43 out of the 100 universities; eight of which are in the the top 10. Those U.S. universities include Harvard University (first), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (fourth), Stanford University (fifth), University of California, Berkeley (sixth), Princeton University (seventh), Yale University (eighth), California Institute of Technology (ninth), and Columbia University (tenth).

Although the total number of U.S. universities is higher than for other countries, this year’s total is lower than last year (46).
