Students in a Temple University honors course are organizing a basketball tournament in honor of a fallen officer.

Five Temple students, Cameran Alavi, Ed Borjon, Justin Diaz, Kevin Pisciella and Michelle Lynn, were assigned a group project in the “Honors: The Leadership Experience” course that required them to hold an event to help a good cause.

As a result, the students decided to organize 4 on 4 basketball tournament in honor of Officer Robert Wilson III, who was killed on March 5 at a North Philadelphia GameStop store while getting a gift for his son. The proceeds raised from the event will be given to the wife and children of Officer Wilson.

The “Officer Robert Wilson III Memorial Basketball Tournament,” will to take place on Friday, April 17 from 6-9 P.M. at Temple University’s Pearson Hall.
