According to Yelp the best 'restaurant' in Philly is Latino, but is it a restaurant?

It’s not a cheesesteak place… It’s not a hoagie shop… It’s not even a restaurant, it is a tortillería.

It’s not a cheesesteak place… It’s not a hoagie shop… It’s not even a restaurant, it is a tortillería.

If you are one of those who trust the Yelp community, you should know that the best “restaurant” in Philly (according to Yelp) is Mexican, it’s called “Tortillería San Román” and it has a 5 star rating.

If you live in Philly you have probably heard about it (and tried its famous tortillas). If not, you should know it is located in the Italian Market — at 951 S 9th St, Philadelphia, PA 19147.

The place Yelp users are crazy about was founded by Francisco Rivera and his son Jonathan in 2009 and it offers traditional tortillas and salsa; which are made fresh daily. Rivera says he supplies the tortillas for a number of restaurants in the city.
