One of AL DÍA's followers submitted a video from his Facebook account taken last weekend at an endorsement rally hosted by 19th ward leaders and members of Latinos United for Political Empowerment (LUPE).

If you don't have time to watch the whole thing, skip to the 3:50 marker. Following Kenney's speech, Democratic 19th Ward Leader Carlos Matos addresses the audience:

"Alright, what are we going to do on election day? Work hard, get out to vote...for who? Manny and Kenney!"

The crowd cheers.

On Monday, LUPE announced that they revoked their early endorsement of Judge Nelson Diaz in favor of former City Councilman Kenney, a move which has resurfaced the scandal surrounding 7th District challenger Manny Morales. Kenney's camp firmly denied any pledge to Morales, despite that he is LUPE's chosen candidate to oust incumbent 7th District Councilwoman Maria Quiñones-Sanchez. They also said that they did not offer to finance a joint get-out-to-vote campaign to the tune of $102,000 as Diaz's campaign has alleged.

“We absolutely do not support Manny and we made no such deal,” Lauren Hitt, Kenney’s campaign spokesperson, said. “There are a lot of members of LUPE who revoked their endorsement after all of the allegations came to light, just as Mr. Diaz did. They’ve also endorsed a number of candidates for City Council who do not endorse Manny either. Mr. Diaz is obviously just embarrassed that he lost an endorsement from a Latino organization, and he’s making some pretty offensive and baseless accusations as a result.”

In the video, Kenney does not vocally endorse Morales. The two are, however, seen shaking hands, and embracing the rally's group endorsement.
