Global Warming Is Biggest Threat to Polar Bears
President-elect Donald Trump has called Climate Change "a Chinese Hoax". But according to a report released on Monday by the Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), there is no time to be skeptical, as climate change the biggest threat to the survival of the polar bear and warned that without decisive action to combat global warming, the bears would almost certainly disappear from much of the Arctic.
“The sooner global warming and sea-ice loss are stopped, the better the long-term prognosis for the species,” the federal wildlife officials said, as quoted by The New York Times.
The report’s message, coming less than two weeks before President-elect Donald J. Trump takes office. Trump has signaled his intention to withdraw the United States from the Paris climate agreement and support plans to reduce emissions.
