Especially when it comes to Russia.

Obama, however, voiced hopes that his successor will also defend the common values of democracy and rule of law that the US and the European Union have long been fighting for. Especially when it comes to Russia. “I’ve sought a constructive relationship with Russia but what I have also been is realistic in recognising there are some significant differences in how Russia views the world and how we view the world,” Obama said at a press conference with the German chancellor, Angela Merkel, in Berlin. While he is not expecting Trump to “follow exactly our blueprint or our approach”, he is optimistic that the ‘seriousness of his new job” will help Trump to focus. As reported today in The Guardian.
