What do you do in your work bathroom? Well, you’re not the only one.

Commercial hygiene product maker SCA surveyed employees in 13 countries on restroom conditions and behavior in their work bathrooms. The results showed that people do much more than intended while in the stalls.

Some of the oddest bathroom activities found in the 2014 SCA Hygiene Matters Consumer Survey were eating (8 percent), exercising (7 percent), smoking (5 percent) and sleeping (5 percent). All of these activities are more likely to be done by men than women.

About one quarter of Americans said they text while in the bathroom while 23 percent say they have gone there to talk on the phone.

For many people, the bathroom is a place to get away while at work. Women were found to be more likely than men to go to the bathroom to deal with the frustration of work (23 vs. 17 percent), while men are more likely to used the bathroom to get alone time or space from colleagues (21 vs. 18 percent). About 10 percent have used their work bathroom to cry (6 percent of men; 14 percent of women).

"We live in a highly connected society and I think people are looking for sanctuary, a place to get away from it all. So there's that group of people that really do use it for those private moments to disconnect," Amy Bellcourt, VP of communications for SCA, told Newsworks. "But yet there's that other group of people that are so highly connected, they're never going to put down their devices. So, they're actually bringing those devices right into the restroom with them."

By far one of the grossest findings was that 42 percent don't wash their hands at all while at work, even though 87 percent say that they use the bathroom. Ew!
