Pop star Beyonce’s charity organization, #BeyGOOD has teamed up with STATE bags to donate backpacks and back-to-school supplies to more than 2,000 students in need in six cities, including Philadelphia.

#BeyGOOD will also hold a pep rally to support local Philly organizations at the Boys and Girls Club of Philadelphia on August 27. A limited-edition #BeyGOOD State Bag backpack will additionally be available to buy. All proceeds from sale of the limited edition bag goes towards their back to school program initiative.

Office Depot and the Office Depot Foundation’s National Backpack Program will donate 2,000 ‘sackpacks’ containing necessary school supplies to several community-based organizations that offer prevention services to youth designed to reduce risks associated with substance use and abuse.

Office Depot is collaborating with the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) and Philadelphia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services (DBHIDS).

Some of the organizations that will receive the sackpacks this year include: South Philly Prevention Coalition, West Phila Youth Coalition,  and Kensington Community Coalition.

Citizens Bank is also donating $50,000 to Cradles to Crayons, a West Conshohocken-based nonprofit organization, to help distribute 24,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to local children in need, as part of their annual Gear for Grades initiative.
