Study figures out how many licks it takes to eat a lollipop
The age old question has finally been answered: how many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie pop?
The age old question has finally been answered: how many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie pop (or any lollipop for that matter)?
1,000 licks apparently.
In a study done by NYU's Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences and Florida State University, researchers determined the number of licks it would take to eat a lollipop by creating a theory on how flowing water causes dissolving and shrinking.
The information found in the study can be also applied to research for chemical and pharmaceutical science and geology.
The study was published in the “Journal of Fluid Mechanics.”
