As if it weren’t enough to be talented, gorgeous and famous, Colombian superstar Shakira has added another superlative to her repertoire: her Facebook page hit 100 million likes July 18. She is the first person to do so.

Facebook itself marked it and highlighted the enormity of the number by tossing out factoids like, if all of the people who liked the page joined hands they’d wrap around the planet four times. Setting aside the impossibility of figuring this given the variability of arm span, the feat is impressive. 

And some of the factoids are really are interesting. It’s no surprise that Mexico City is one of the three top cities for Shakira “likes,” but a bit more startling that the others are Cairo and Istambul. We guess it has become a global truism: hips don’t lie.
