We already know Philadelphians can’t drive.

Now AAA Mid-Atlantic stated that the most unsafe road in Philadelphia for senior citizens is Grant Avenue.

In Northeast Philadelphia, the portion of Grant Avenue between Roosevelt Boulevard and Blue Grass Road, is still the road that has the most senior driver crashes. According to PennDOT data, there were 31 crashes and 37 injuries on the eastbound side of that section of Grant Avenue, and 29 crashes and 36 injuries on the westbound side from 2009 to 2013.

“Top crash corridors for senior drivers typically are busy commercial highways, close to shops, senior centers and residential areas,” AAA Mid-Atlantic reported.

AAA and their safety partner PennDOT are reviewing the new data and plan to release it later this year for Older Driver Safety Awareness Week.

Other unsafe roads in the surrounding region include Main Street in Montgomery County, Route 3 in Delaware County, Route 132 in Bucks County and Business Route 30 in Chester County.
