One of the cutest commercials from the summer had to be MasterCard’s Mascots Stand up to Cancer.

The commercial is of Mr. Met, the New York Mets mascot, and the Phillie Phanatic, the Philadelphia Phillies mascot, meeting up for lunch to “help fight cancer.” As they go to shake hands, they remember their on-going feud and various pranks they have pulled on each other. They end up putting their feelings aside and have their lunch. The narrator states “Getting together for a great cause: priceless.” MasterCard is donating up to $4,000,000 to Stand Up To Cancer if their users spend $10 or more on their MasterCard while dining out.

The rivalry between the Philadelphia Phillies and the New York Mets has been going on since 1962, but had it’s peak in 2007 when Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins predicted the Mets’ defeat in the division race.
