Miss America’s Russian-American winner causes no racial uproar
Another immigrant beauty won Miss America this year, but unlike last year, no one is making a stink about it.
A new Miss America was crowned this weekend in Atlantic City, NJ.
23-year-old Kira Kazantsev, of New York, took the Miss America title making it the third year in a row that a contestant from that state won.
Now if you recall, last year’s winner Nina Davuluri, the first Indian-American contestant to win the pageant, caused a complete racial uproar on Twitter and the rest of the internet.
Some said she wasn’t American, while others referred to her as an Arab, Muslim, terrorist or an owner of a 7-Eleven store.
If you're #MissAmerica you should have to be American.

As I scanned the internet this morning, I found something interesting. No one commented on the fact that this year’s winner is Russian-American and born to Russian immigrant parents.
Where are all the nasty comments about her ethnicity? It appears that no one cares because she “looks” American with her blonde hair and light skin.
The only thing people seemed to complain about was her talent.
So Americans have either become more tolerant, or really just care only about looks and skin color.
