Merriam-Webster Dictionary adds internet slang like WTF and emoji

Someone please save the English language.

Merriam-Webster just added various internet slang to the their unabridged online dictionary this week.

Among the 1,700 new words, internet slang such as photobomb, emoji, meme, WTF (what the f***), NSFW (not safe for work), jegging and clickbait were on the list.

Merriam-Webster just added various internet slang to the their unabridged online dictionary this week.

Among the 1,700 new words, internet slang such as photobomb, emoji, meme, WTF (what the f***), NSFW (not safe for work), jegging and clickbait were on the list.

On the more delicious side, words like crema, chilaquiles, and macaron were added as well.

In a blog post, Merriam-Webster noted that they identify new words by what people most frequently look up or use.
