With their recent share of food safety scandals like glow in the dark pork and tainted milk, one Chinese company is trying to help.
Chinese search engine Baidu has invented “smart chopsticks,” known as Kuaisou in Chinese, that is said to be able to detect contaminated oils, PH levels, temperature, and calories.
According to a video posted by the company, in order to use the chopsticks, they are linked to a smartphone app. Once dipped in oil, the smartphone will display either a good or bad reading depending on how safe or unsafe it is.
There is no price yet for the chopsticks.
