If you thought the moon looked larger Sunday night, then you were right!
The supermoon on August 10 was the biggest and brightest supermoon in 2014. A supermoon appears when the full moon happens along with the moon's closest approach to Earth during its elliptical orbit.
This recent supermoon was 14 percent larger and 30 percent brighter than a normal full moon.
The next supermoon will take place on September 8 at 9:38 PM EST.
