In a special event July 6 at City Hall, City Council declared July 6-12 to be “Siempre Salsa Philly Week.” Legendary salsa manager Hector Mainsonave was awarded both a Bermudez Lifetime Achievement Award and a resolution by the city government honoring Hector’s impressive impact in the world of salsa.

Hector has managed such famous acts as Tito Puente, la India, and Tito Nieves.

The city also issued a resolution honoring Jesse Bermudez, himself, who was fundamental in bringing “Siempre Salsa Philly Week” to the city of brotherly love.
