We already know that climate change is currently and will continue to cause problems in the world.

Now, a new study from the National Audubon Society says that rising temperatures are threatening the survival of more than half of the bird species in the United States and Canada. The new temperatures will greatly change the habitats of birds in almost every state, which will force them to migrate to unfamiliar areas. In these different areas, the birds will either have to quickly adapt to the changes, or face extinction.

Scientists say of the 588 species observed, 126 species will see a decline as early as 2050, while another 188 species could decline by 2080.

Some of the bird species facing these problems include the bald eagle, the Baltimore oriole, the brown pelican of Louisiana, the mountain bluebird of Idaho, and the official birds of Pennsylvania, Utah, Vermont, Nevada, New Hampshire and Washington, D.C.

This is especially bad news for the bald eagles of Pennsylvania, who had finally been removed off of the state’s list of threatened species.
